How accessible is my personal physician?
David Axelrod, M.D.'s services are designed to give you 24 hour accessibility.
Once you begin your membership, you will receive your physician's cell phone
number, as well as e-mail address.

What other services and amenities can I expect?
Dr. Axelrod's exclusive, membership only practice is unlike other medical offices.
When you arrive, you will find convenient parking, next to the office.  Due to the
small size of the practice,  we keep waiting times to a minimum.
Dr. Axelrod has a
personal biller, who will send insurance claims to your insurance,
for you.  When
you become a member, we will provide you with a telephone number to your
personal biller.

Will I need health insurance?
You will need health insurance to cover expenses usually covered by health
insurance companies at our office (consultation, office visits, procedures), as
well as at visits to other specialists, hospitals, and testing.

Is the annual fee (retainer) covered by my health insurance?
No.  However, the fee may be tax-deductible, both on a corporate and
individual basis.  Some patients have found that the fee is reimbursable under
their company's medical reimbursement plan, 1025 plan or cafeteria plan.
You need to
contact your employer or accountant to see if part or all of the
fee is reimbursable under your existing plan.  Some have used Health
Savings Accounts to cover the annual fee with pre-tax dollars.

What if I need to see another specialist or go to the hospital?
David Axelrod, M.D., your personal physician, will guide you through the
process of visiting with other specialist physicians, as well as out of office
procedures and testing.  This includes calling other specialists for you,
arranging appointments for you, and following through with the results.  If you
are in the hospital, your personal physician will maintain contact with you.

What is the size of the practice?
Most Rheumatology and Allergy practices see 4000 to 6000 patients per year.
David Axelrod, M.D., your expert, personal physician, will have no more than
300 member patients each year.  This small practice size allows us to provide you
with convenient appointments, with the time you need with your physician,
with the focused and personalized care you deserve, with the assistance you
need to navigate a complex medical system, and with exclusive access to
your expert, personal physician, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Will I be able to get narcotics or sedatives from the practice?
No.  The use of narcotics or the use of sedatives is not good medicine for
rheumatic and allergic problems.
Dr Axelrod will never prescribe these
controlled substances.  If this is a problem for you, then you should not
participate as a member of this practice.
